Review of The Moonstone, by Wilkie Collins Judith Starkston It’s Collins’s genius that he invests that one gleaming stone (“mere carbon,” as one character coolly reminds his more excitable friends) with enough snificance, and embeds it in enough drama, that no reader could find the abundant pother in ’s nearly 500 pages disproportionate. That got me to thinking maybe I'd join them with this particular book though, much as I love my Kindle, I read my aged, yellowed paperback.
